The minimum hire period is 14 days, and the rates are calculated on an Auckland-Auckland basis. An additional fee may apply for a one-way rental between our depots in Auckland and Christchurch.
A 20% deposit of the total rental charge is required to secure your booking. Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit is received. The balance of payment must be paid in full 7 days before picking up the campervan.
If a booking is cancelled the following fees apply:
- Up to 42 days before the pickup date no charge.
- 41 days to 21 days before the pickup date 50% of the deposit.
- 20 days to 7 days before the pickup date, 100% of your deposit.
- Within 7 days of the pickup date or no show no refund
The driver must be at least 18 years of age and must present a current national and international driver’s license.
The insurance included in the daily hire charge covers damage to the hire vehicle, damage to a third party’s property, and public liability of NZ $2,000,000.00, subject to the excess, road restrictions, and exclusions listed below.
The hirer is responsible for the first NZ$2000.00 (the excess) for drivers 25 years of age or older (NZ $2500.00 for drivers over 21 but under 25 years of age), NZ$3000.00 for drivers between 18 and 21 years of age, of the cost of damage to the hire vehicle, third-party property, overhead and underbody damage, towing and recovery costs, and break-in.
The excess applies to each claim, not per rental.
No excess for windscreen and window glass damage, tyre damage, fire, or theft.
The excess applies regardless of who is at fault and must be paid when the accident report is completed.
The excess will be refunded if BANZ Tours and Rentals LTD is successful in recovering the cost of damages from the third party.
A bond equivalent to the applicable excess is taken as a credit card imprint or cash.
The following Road Restrictions do apply:
- Ninety-Mile Beach – Northland or any Beach
- All roads North of Colville township on the Coromandel Peninsula
- Skippers Road, Skippers Canyon Queenstown
- Ball Hut Road, Mount Cook
Any other exclusions are specified in the terms of the rental agreement (e.g., the hirer willfully or recklessly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, which damages the vehicle).
For any breakdowns or vehicle repairs, we provide you with a nationwide phone or WhatsApp backup service. You are responsible for prior approval if any repair is required. On presenting a receipt, you will be fully reimbursed. Our liability extends only to the refund of hire charges for any days of a total loss of vehicle use caused by a mechanical breakdown.
Infringements. We reserve the right to charge the hirer for any speeding fines, speed camera fines, parking fines, or any other associated costs.
Force Majeure. In no event shall BANZ Tours and Rentals Ltd be liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations under this agreement arising out of or caused by, directly or indirectly, forces beyond its control, including, without limitation, acts of God, natural disaster, governmental or local body legislation, direction or restrictions, pandemics, epidemics or outbreak of social disease, strikes or other labour disturbances, accidents, acts of war or terrorism, civil commotions, or omissions or delays in acting by any governmental authority or by the hirer.
