We have rented the most wonderful campervan at Banz Tours & Rentals. The car is in perfect condition, well equipped and completely clean. The toilet also works very well. Very good contact with the company before and during the trip. Return of the car was smooth. We give Banz Tours & Rentals our warmest recommendations.

Wow what an experience!

BANZ has it all. Kurt was very helpful from start to end. The van itself was fantastic – a great modern vehicle excellent & easy to drive, great condition, beautifully fit out, very spacious (lots of storage), and the comfiest camper bed I’ve ever slept on! It’s fair to say other campers had van envy when our snazzy BANZ came into the campsites! The van comes with everything you could ever need such as outdoor chairs and tables, linen and comfy pillows, towels, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery etc. I recommend BANZ to anyone wanting to explore New Zealand by road. I hope to rent with BANZ again in the near future. Thanks Kurt!

Great Tour travelling the North and South Island

We rented a campervan from Kurt for roughly 6 weeks. We started in Auckland and returned the campervan in Christchurch. It was an easy handling. Although a little old it took us safely to all the spots we wanted to visit, it worked perfectly. It was clean, cosy, well maintained and well equipped. The communication with Kurt was easy, he responded on the spot and was helpful in any situation. It was a very good experience! thank you!

Although the Hiace Hitop camper was 15 years old, she drove very well and she was equipped with all necessary equipment and neatly clean. We were able to fully enjoy our 5-week vacation. We had a few (technical) questions in the beginning and received a very quick answer, so that we could continue our journey without any care with the camper. When handing in the camper, Kurt brought us to the metro station ± 30 kilometers further, here we discovered that we had forgotten the camera … Kurt went back with us to get the camera and brought us to the metro station again, Top service! Great van, amazing trip

Booking the van with Kurt was the best deal we found and the van was impeccable! Everything was working perfectly, it was fully equipped and we had a month travelling without any hassle. We had an incident on our way and Kurt was awesome helping us to find the best solution and got the insurance to cover! Overall would highly recommend hiring with him as it’s a trustworthy and helpful person! Hiace Hitop 2/3 Berth Feb – Mar 19

Our van was brilliant for two adults. Big enough for the both of us and small enough to park and manoeuvre around NZ twisty roads without hesitation. The vehicle may be an older model but everything worked during our 6 week hire period. We picked the van up in Christchurch and returned to Kurt in Auckland. Kurt’s communication was quick and helpful when enquiring and making the booking which included the airport transfers. We looked at other companies but none came close. Myself, along with my wife and 7 month old daughter rented a Toyota Hiace from Kurt (BANZ) for a little under 40 days, starting in October 2017. Our experience dealing with Kurt, from the beginning to the end of our vacation, was exceptional. I had spent nearly 30hr enquiring with EVERY camper hire company I was able before coming across BANZ. Immediately Kurt went out of his way to accommodate all of our travel requirements (Car seats/pickup & drop-off from airport) as well the specific floorpan we were hoping for. The prices I found to be very competitive, the owners are beauties, and the vehicle was clean, classy and completely reliable. I have and will continue to recommend BANZ for anyone thinking of seeing NZ from a rental. Do yourself a favour and give these guys a shout.

We (CH couple, late 20s) rented a Toyota Hiace Hi Top (2berth) from Dec 2016 to Apr 2017. We had contacted BANZ regarding buying a vehicle (with buy-back guarantee). However, there were no such vehicles available. instead they offered us a good long-term rental rate which we accepted as a not-so-cheap-but-definitely-hassle-free option. When we arrived at AKL on a Saturday morning, Kurt was waiting to pick us up and drive us to Waiuku (we also got dropped off at AKL in the end). There the campervan was waiting for us, ready to go. The vehicle was in great condition (despite being a few years old), very well equipped (cooking utensils, table, chairs, bedding, towels and a road atlas) and we spent many carefree days exploring NZ. The the campervan was fully self-contained (free overnight stays where SCC is allowed), we had unlimited kilometres available and we were even allowed to drive on gravel roads – no worries. During our 5 months in NZ we needed to do several repairs (replacing the windscreen after damage caused by a pebble, replacing the valve of the water tank after it broke off on a bumpy road and replacing the alternator after it broke down). In each of these instances we could get hold of Kurt immediately and he advised us what to do and where to go to get it fixed. We never had to go for the “cheap but slow” repairs but could always go for the fast option, i.e. replacement of parts thus not losing too much of our precious holiday time. Mostly, Kurt managed to sort out payment directly with the mechanics and where this was not possible, we paid for it and got reimbursed when we returned thevehicle. So in the end it was not just the easiest option but also the cheapest. So would we recommend them? YES! The rental conditions were very competitive, the vehicles well maintained and equipped and Kurt is a lovely persperson, easy to deal with and very reliable. It felt more like borrowing a friend’s car than dealing with a rental company. Merci für Alles Kurt!

All Stars for Banz Travel Cars We had a 2 bed campervan for 3 1/2 weeks in February 2016 Christchurch to Auckland. We are excited. The equipment is well thought out, bed conversion without problems, big lawn. Amazingly plenty of storage space. Sufficient cooking and eating utensils. The car offers enough space and is yet to ride well on the narrow and undulating roads. Despite the age he is well maintained and in good technical condition. Since we had no glitches we could not test the promised service, but after meeting Graham in Christchurch and Kurt in Waiuku we are sure that they would have done everything for us. Christchuch – Auckland February 2015

We rented a camper van toyota hiace for 6 weeks in February, March 2015. The van was a high roof which was very pratical because we’re tall. The bed size is juste AMAZING to spend wonderfull night without bothering each other. Everything was fine and the van, even old is well maintened. In case of issue Kurt is available at all time to help, which is very perfect. Thanks also Kurt for all what you did for us regarding our different camping stuff. I definitly recommand this compagny! Thanks to this van we spent in NZ the best nights of our one year travel around the world. A dream!

Camper March 2015

We rented a Toyota Hiace hi-top van from Kurt for 2 weeks, one way Auckland to Christchurch. The vans are slightly older models but mechanically we had no problems at all and it was easy to drive, and clearly very well looked after. The inside of the van was really great – nicely decorated, comfortable bed, loads of storage and the kitchen things all had their own space to put away. All of the kitchen crockery and cutlery, bedding and towels were included, along with lots of extras like washing up things, a picnic table and chairs, a road map and a small bin. The larger companies will charge you to rent all of these things. We have rented other vans in NZ and this is by far the nicest and best equipped. Kurt picked us up from the airport and made sure we were happy with the van and how to work everything. He is very easy to get in contact with and was extremely friendly and helpful. Auckland-Christchurch 2014

We rented a camper van from Kurt for 3 weeks in November 2014 for a 1 way hire from Auckland to Christchurch. The van was a high roof Toyota Hiace 2001 and whilst it might have been a few years old it was brilliant, clean & tidy and never missed a beat all holiday. Included in the price was bedding, picnic table and chairs and all cutlery etc, something a lot of the larger companies charge extra for. The maps provided with the van were first rate as they showed campsites on them, so with these and our Rough Guide we found great campsites every night. Only thing missing from the van were some wine glasses, so we bought a set and left them in the van for the next people to enjoy, so pour a glass,sit back and enjoy the views. The pick up and collection service was brilliant also. If you’re working to a budget and want a medium sized van, I’d strongly recommend you give Banz a try before booking any of the bigger companies. Andy

We rented a Toyota HiAce with Kurt for 41 days. The model was from 2001 but well maintained. We had a minor issue not related to the safety of the car. Kurt was great as we could call him any time and he helped as much as possible. Thank you Kurt!

Just perfect!

Dear Kurt! Thank you for making a great journey on North- and Southisland possible! We bought a 1994 Toyota Hiace including just everything a small family needs (kitchen-equipment, folding-chairs, sheets, duvets, blanket, lighter, …) and had no problems at all (besides a minor problem with the gear change once – could be fixed immediately). Thank you for managing (and paying!) the car registration, providing us with essential information and giving us the opportunity to choose between a re-buy-option or re-selling it to a third person! This was the ideal company for us to buy a van for our family-trip!
